IES Drug Policy

Possession, use or distribution of any drugs that are considered by host country law to be illicit or illegal drugs or controlled substances is prohibited. Students are cautioned that the possession of drugs is often dealt with harshly by local, host country law enforcement. NOTE: Any drug infraction will be considered a grave violation of policy and will result in serious sanctions, up to and including dismissal from the program.

The use of illegal drugs and abuse of alcohol are seriously detrimental to one’s health and well being. Should students be involved with either of these situations, IES urges students to get necessary help from medical professionals and counsellors. Program information is available at the Centers that indicates where you could go for treatment and assistance regarding detox and drug rehabilitation.
