Policies

As an academic institution, the members of the IES community are expected to respect and to follow IES policies. Students must take responsibility for acting in ways that demonstrate respect for themselves and others, and recognize that they represent IES and their country for the duration of their time in the IES program.

Alcohol and Drug Policy

Alcohol may be consumed, but not abused, by students who are of legal age in their host countries. Students who choose to consume alcohol do so with the knowledge that they remain responsible for their actions at all times and are expected to drink responsibly. IES prohibits the illegal distribution of alcohol to students who are not of legal drinking age. IES will impose serious sanctions on any student who commits an alcohol infraction, including drunkenness and/or any abuse of alcohol. Sanctions could go from Loss of Privileges to the Dismissal of the Program. Specific sanctions from the host country for alcohol related legal violations are available from the Centre office. IES does not encourage the use or condone any drinking patterns or behaviours that are detrimental to the health and welfare of the individual or the IES community, or the community at large.

Find below the IES Barcelona policies. For complete information on IES policies and sanctions, download the IES Code of Student Responsibility in pdf format.
