Apartments

Apartments are a good option for very independent students. Most of the students who choose this option are not as interested in learning the language and the Spanish culture as those who choose the homestay option. Integration in the Spanish life style may be more difficult.

Students will share an apartment with both Spanish and North-American students or only with North-American students. Those who share the apartment with Spanish students have a better chance of learning about Spain and its culture.

Some students will share a double room and others will have their own. Students will have to bring their own bed sheets, pillow cases, a pillow and blankets or buy them here in Barcelona. The price for a set of bed sheets, a pillow, a pillow case and two blankets go from 80 to 100 euros approximately. Cleaning service is included but students are responsible for doing their own laundry; all the apartments have laundry facilities.

Notice that meals are not included in this housing option.

IES Barcelona has assigned a Resident Assistant to all the students living in our apartments. The RA’s function is to help the student in all their needs.
