Wine tasting

IES Barcelona offers the students the possibility to participate in an introductory wine tasting session. In this class, the student discovers the origins and the special characteristics of the Penedés wines, a country area where a more than a thousand-year old.

Mediterranean wine-making tradition has contributed to place them in most international markets and on the best restaurant’s menus.

A wine expert will teach the participants how to recognize and evaluate different wines through the way it looks, smells and tastes. We will also learn the importance of wine in our culture.

The sessions are devoted to learn about the different steps of wine making, elaboration starting with the harvest through the fermentation process, until the final bottling.
